The word "threshold" refers to the point just before a transition. Threshold/Santiago Calatrava: Structure and Expression focuses on themes of transformation and movement in nine architectural projects. The exhibition title was created to be a sans-serif typeface with the high contrast qualities of a modern serif typeface. At the same time, the 1:1 height/width ratio of the letterforms reflects the structure and character of the architectural forms.
